Japan College of Foreign Languages
Japan College of Foreign Languages was established in 1970 (then called the Tokyo Institute of Intercultural Communication) as a pioneer in the field of interpreter and tourist guide training. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2020. We have now grown into a vocational college for higher education with 11 departments offering 35 courses. For more than 50 years, as JCFL has grown, relations between Japan and the rest of the world have become closer, with such words as 'internationalisation' becoming common currency. JCFL will continue to contribute to our globalising society by cultivating broad minded and culturally aware students, along with teaching them to understand and embrace such diversity. Moving towards the future, JCFL will persist in improving its education in accordance with its core principles - a holistic development of individuals, the cultivation of students' thinking skills and the promotion of independent minds.
