The Importance of Study Abroad: An Introduction to the Turing Scheme

GMT7:00-7:30JST16:00-16:30

Even as the pandemic has widened the realm of opportunities for online cultural exchanges, it has also revealed how vital face-to-face communication is in people’s lives. Studying abroad in person does more than broaden one’s career horizons; it also equips students with lifelong intercultural skills. This is why the Turing Scheme exists: to allow students to equip themselves and be active members of global society. Presented by Keio University’s Vice-President, Motohiro Tsuchiya, and the British Council’s Director for Japan, Matthew Knowles, this seminar is aimed at emphasizing the importance of study abroad for students in the United Kingdom, demonstrating why Japan is an essential international partner, and providing information about funding opportunities through the Turing Scheme.
